luizga electric microbigband releases – ora bom dia

A Fresh Tribute to Cape Verdian master Orlando Pantera

The luizga electric microbigband, headed by brazilian singer-songwriter Luiz Gabriel Lopes, proudly announces the release of its new single, “ORA BOM DIA”, a powerful and inventive arrangement of a piece by the legendary Cape Verdean composer Orlando Pantera.

Known for weaving Cape Verde’s deep-rooted rhythmic traditions with contemporary forms, Orlando Pantera left behind a body of work that continues to inspire artists across the globe. With “ora bom dia, LuizGa pays homage to his legacy, while reimagining his music through a bold orchestration that blends Afro-creole grooves, electric textures, and the ensemble’s signature vibrant energy.

“This project is about honoring tradition while opening up new sonic pathways,” says LuizGa, who joined 6 more musicians from different nationalities to create this Electric Microbigband. “Orlando Pantera’s music speaks of resilience, rhythm, and cultural identity. Our goal was to carry that spirit forward and amplify it with our own contemporary language.”

Recorded live at BOTA, one of the most hot spots of the new Lisbon music scene, the track showcases the ensemble’s dynamic interplay, combining tasty vocal harmonies, layered percussion, and electrifying synth bass lines. “ora bom dia” is both a celebration of Pantera’s genius and a statement of how his music continues to resonate with today’s audiences.

“For me, as a brazilian artist, it is very special to make this musical connection with Cabo Verde. We also know Pantera was a big fan of brazilian music”, says LuizGa.

The single will be available on all major digital streaming platforms starting September 26th.
